Anticipate the bad stuff

The heavy damage to this dirt bike bears evidence of Airman 1st Class James Kirshner’s accident when he hit a deep rut on the first ride of the new bike. Kirshner’s concussion, shattered collarbone and leg laceration sent him to the hospital on his 21st birthday. Kirshner, assigned to the 377th Security Forces Squadron, Kirtland AFB, N.M., advises fellow riders to stay within their skill level, pay attention to the surroundings and anticipate what’s around the next turn or at the top of a hill.
