Motorcycle Mentor Ride

ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. – U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Bryan Creager, 97th Air Mobility Wing command chief, performs a safety check of his motorcycle during the Motorcycle Mentor Ride at the Freedom Community Center April 11, 2014. The event was hosted by the 97th AMW Safety Office, offering motorcycle safety briefings which highlighted: pre-ride inspection, personal protective equipment, riding skills, riding hazards, program requirements, mishap statistics, risk management and mentorship. The seminar discussed the 101 Critical Days of Summer which are known to Air Force members as the days of summer with the greatest chance of accidents. The Air Force’s vision is to ensure Airmen have zero preventable fatal mishaps and an injury-free summer. The objective of the Motorcycle Mentor Ride is to call attention to the tragic loss and/or injury of Airmen during summertime and to make them realize that safety is personal for their families, friends, coworkers and themselves.
