Acting Secretary of the Air Force John P. Roth's summer safety message to Airmen and Guardians: "Longer days and outdoor recreational activities highlight summer. Last summer, the Air Force lost 15 Airmen in preventable mishaps. Motor vehicle operations and water-related activities were the leading causes. Simple actions — such as wearing a seatbelt or motorcycle helmet, putting on a proper life preserver, or focusing on the road, not your cell phone — save lives. Be safe, enjoy your summer, and continue to lead by example."
