Knowing tire patch size can save a life
Over estimating the amount of tire rubber that contacts the road -- the tire patch size -- can result in a mishap. Awareness of a bike's patch size and road contaminants, such as sand, gravel and water, helps riders adjust speed and the amount of lean needed to safely enter and exit turns.
