1st Lt. Will Boss, Air Force wildlife ecologist, takes a photo with his guide Mohammad while participating in a wildlife assessment in the Horn of Africa nation of Djibouti in March 2020. The Smithsonian Institution sponsored team not only collected 93 DNA specimens, but also built partnership capacities with Djiboutian nationals by providing life-saving information on human wildlife interactions.
