Protecting our nation’s sacred symbol

U.S. Air Force Capt. Will Boss, center, Air Force Safety Center wildlife ecologist, releases a two-year-old bald eagle in Hampton, Virginia, Jan. 13, 2021. According to the Air Force Safety Center, although this project focuses on Joint Base Langley-Eustis, the results have national implications, and will aid wildlife professionals across the country to make informed management decisions for reducing eagle-aviation conflicts to ensure the safety of aircrews and effective conservation of this valuable national treasure.
