  • AUAB, Qatar sign agreement on air space operations

    AL UDEID AIR BASE, Qatar—An Air Traffic Control Letter of Agreement was signed by U.S. personnel, the Qatar Emiri Air Force (QEAF) and Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) to better work together to ensure safe air space operations at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar.

  • 8th EAMS keeping AUAB runways clear of FOD

    Members of the 8th Expeditionary Air Mobility Squadron perform a foreign object debris (FOD) flight line walk, Aug. 28, 2020, Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. FOD walks are performed regularly to ensure flight lines are clear of debris that could cause injury to personnel or damage to government property.

    In a job where that mission is inherently dangerous, mitigating the risk can seem like a close second in mission priority. Safe practices and risk management, both on and off duty, are a part of ensuring that the mission is accomplished as safely and efficiently as possible.
