  • Air Force update for COVID-19

    In an effort to minimize the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 and to prioritize the health and safety of Department of the Air Force personnel, the following modifications have been made:
  • The 39th Medical Operations Squadron public health office frequently conducts briefings warning U.S. personnel stationed at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey, to avoid contact with stray and wild animals on the installation. These animals potentially carry rabies, a fatal disease which infects the central nervous system of mammals, ultimately causing disease in the brain and death. (U.S. Air Force illustration by Staff.     Rabies is a virus nightmares are made of. It is also a real-world threat members of Incirlik Air Base face whenever they come across the many stray and wild mammals which roam the community.
