Sports and Recreation Safety

As the weather starts to warm up, we begin to think about enjoying the outdoors, hiking, fishing, outdoor sports or camping. Take a moment to recognize all the hazards associated with outside activities.

During the summer months some families take to the mountains to go camping. Always prepare for the unexpected; check the weather report, and tell family or friends your plans.

When you decide to go hiking make sure you prepare for the journey; wear layers, proper shoes or hiking boots, and take extra water and food. Hiking with a buddy is a more enjoyable experience.
